From the Beginning

Most of my favorite memories from childhood are of creating. Creating doesn’t have to mean art. I think that we are all creative in things that we do. Using my creativity meant putting on shows for the neighborhood kids and parents. We would spend hours learning dance steps to perform at these little shows. I would play house out in the woods and would clear out spaces and outline those spaces with rocks. I’d rake a pattern into the dirt and stand back admiring how pretty it was before anybody starting walking on it. We would make pretend furniture. Doll houses were not good enough as they were. They needed carpeting made out of felt paper. They needed cute accessories and furniture and lamps! But painting, that was my thing. I must have done a hundred paint by numbers in my early years. I would always beg my mom to buy me a new kit. I loved painting. The only thing I hated were the brushes that came with the kits. They didn’t work for the small tiny spaces that needed just the right little dab of paint to make it perfect. I’m a paint in the lines kind of girl. I have tried every kind of paint that is out there. I have followed the trends but the two that I keep coming back too are watercolor and acrylic.

I have bought so many paints and supplies for different classes that I have taken. It is now time to put all that to good use. No more excuses, no more delays because Now is Later!

I’ve decided to restart my journey to find my artistic side and see where it leads. My plans include all types of creating but mainly painting. My first order of business is to just start. I’ve done planning for years. Now is the time for action.
